Internal Review Passed
1. Understanding MiCA
The Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation represents a landmark, comprehensive regulatory framework enacted by the European Union. MiCA aims to harmonize the regulatory treatment of crypto-assets across all EU Member States, ensuring legal certainty, supporting innovation, and providing robust consumer and investor protection.
Sentens recognizes MiCA as the new gold standard for digital asset regulation globally. We are fully committed to achieving and maintaining complete compliance with MiCA requirements as an authorized Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP).
2. Current Transitional Status
Operating under Transitional Provisions
Currently, Sentens is operating under the transitional "grandfathering" provisions provided for existing virtual asset service providers in the EU. We are actively finalizing our formal CASP authorization application dossier to be submitted to the relevant National Competent Authority (NCA) in our home Member State well before the expiration of the transitional period.
3. Enhanced Safeguarding and Operational Resilience
In anticipation of MiCA's stringent prudential and safeguarding rules, we have proactively overhauled our internal infrastructure:
- Absolute Asset Segregation: Client assets are held in cryptographically distinct wallets, completely isolated from corporate treasury funds.
- Capital Requirements: We maintain excess regulatory capital reserves, ensuring we exceed the minimum prudential requirements dictated by MiCA for the scale of our operations.
- IT Resilience (DORA Alignment): Our technological infrastructure is being audited to align with the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), ensuring we can withstand severe ICT-related disruptions.
